Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,

forever. Amen.

OPENING PRAYER – SUNDAY 10/18/2020

Linda Kimball

Holy Creator,

You are the creator of all things in heaven and earth.

The Fall Season is here, and you have done a marvelous job in

painting a beautiful canvas of creation. The colors are stunning!

They remind us of your wisdom, beauty, and grace.

Our glorious God,

We speak with the Psalmist – Moses, Aaron, and Samuel

called on you to share your abundance and mercy. You heard

their cries and gave more than they deserved.

Today, we gather in this sacred space and ask for your Holy Spirit

to inspire us, illuminate us, and open our hearts to listen to your

instructions through the hymns, prayers, and your Word so that we may

understand, and appreciate, and love you more.

God of Creation,

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

We are here to praise and glorify you.

Let your Word be the lamp to our feet

and a light to our paths. Amen.

THE PEOPLE’S PRAYER – SUNDAY 10/18/2020

David DeCarteret

Living and faithful God,

We come to you asking for mercy, strength, healing, and grace.

You demonstrated your wisdom, forgiveness, faithfulness, and compassion toward

the Israelites.

We pray that you grant the same ordinances that you gave Moses and the Israelites.

Please help us to be patient when we are waiting for your answers.

Remind us of our covenant with you and each other.

Assist us in upholding our Vision for your church, for us, and the community.

Encourage us to reset our relationship with you when we are lost.

Revive us from physical and spiritual complacency.

Remove fears from our hearts and minds and reset us

so that we align ourselves with your teachings and mandate.

We pray for our brothers and sister who are sick or affected by the pandemic. We

cry to you for those recovering from surgery, sickness, addiction to drugs, alcohol,

and desire of the flesh.

We yearn for the time to return to our sanctuary; Lord, lead us, guide us

and let us listen to the Holy Spirit and its guidance.

Please give us the spirit of unity, obedience, faith, strength, and loyalty.

We pray for our Vision.

Empower us, inspire us, equip us to become doers, and honor our covenant.

Our Vision is not only a covenant among us but also with you. Take us, and mold

us into the vessels that you have intended us to be. Assist us not to lay empty but be filled to the brim with your grace, willing, and available to serve you and others.

Urge us to yearn not only for your presence but your Kingdom.

We pray in the name of our God – Yahweh and Jesus Christ or Savior. Amen.
