L. I will come to you in the silence,
P. I will lift you from all your fear.
L. You will hear my voice, I claim you as my choice,
Be still and know I am here. Do not be afraid; I am with you.
P. Do not be afraid; I am with you. I have called you each by name.
L. Come and follow me; I will bring you home.
All: I love you, and you are mine. Master, let me see again.
(Adapted from TFWS Hymnal #2218)

HYMN:   UMH  #57  “O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing”

OPENING PRAYER: In Unison

L. Our beloved parent – LORD JESUS.
We pray for our children and their families. May our love and resources bring them closer to you and one another. Stir our hearts and let us see you in their eyes.
P. God, increase our faith.
L. You have declared that your Kingdom belongs to the children.
According to the Book of Deuteronomy, you instructed our forefathers
to read and teach your Word daily to our children and their children – from generation to generation.
P. God, open our hearts and increase our faith.
L. Thank you for reminding us that we need to re-examine our vision, faith journey, and Kin(g)dom building.
P. God, increase our faith.
L. Thank you for being our Teacher, Co-Creator, and Collaborator.
P. God, we are grateful.
L. Please open our minds and our hearts to receive your Holy Spirit. Please help us listen and see the movement of the Holy Spirit among us, our children, and our community.
P. God, increase our confidence so that we intentionally lean into grace.
L. Many children are lost and forgotten due to economic distress. Many children are yearning for fellowship with other children but don’t have the means. Many children don’t know what love is. Many children don’t learn and understand you as their best friend ever.
P. Jesus, increase our faith and give us love.
L. Lord, let us act upon our faith in You and each other and take care of our children.
Send us out of the Church to minister to our children and tell them that Jesus loves them.
P. God, empower us and increase our faith.
L. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
P. Jesus, let me see again.
L. Come, Holy Spirit, and anoint us and send us into the community to proclaim your Word so others can see and experience your love and grace.
All: Jesus, increase my faith and open my heart to see You. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER: – UMH # 895 – in unison —— Denise Adams

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.
