CALL TO WORSHIP ————————————-David Tetzloff
L. Come! Come! Everybody worships with a prayer or song of praise! Worship and remember to keep the Sabbath day. Take a rest and think of God; put your work away.
P. Worship and remember the Lord’s unending care, reaching out to love and help people everywhere!
L. Come! Come! Everybody worship remembers how Jesus long ago taught us how to talk to God; something we should know.
P. Come! Come! Everybody worship and remember that God is like a light, showing you the way to go, ever-burning bright.

HYMN – UMH #547 – “O, Church of God, United”——–Jayne Thompson
(WORDS: Frederick B. Morley, 1953, MUSIC: Gesangbuch der H. W. k. Hofkappelle, 1784, alt.
OPENING PRAYER: Responsive—————————David Tetzloff
L. Spirit of God, descend upon my heart; wean it from the earth; through all its pulses move; stoop to my weakness, mighty as thou art, and make me love thee as I ought to love.
P. Teach me to feel that thou art always nigh. Teach me the struggles of the soul to bear. To check the rising doubt, the rebel sigh. Teach me the patience of unanswered prayer.
L. I ask no dream, no prophet ecstasies, No sudden rending of the veil of clay, no angel visitant, no opening skies, but take the dimness of my soul away.
P. Teach me to love Thee as Thine angels love, One holy passion filling all my frame; The kindling of the heaven descended Dove, My heart an altar, and thy love the flame.
(UMH 500 v, 1, 4, 2, 5)
PRAYER OF CONFESSION – Responsive———-David Tetzloff
L. Eternal Light, shine into our hearts.
P. Eternal Goodness, deliver us from evil.
L. Eternal Power, be our support.
P. Eternal Wisdom, scatter the darkness of our ignorance.
L. Eternal Pity, have mercy upon us.
P. That with all our heart and mind and soul and strength we may seek your face
and be brought by your infinite mercy to your holy presence;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Bow 310
WORD OF ASSURANCE —————————–David Tetzloff
There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea;
There’s a kindness in God’s justice, which is more than liberty.
There’s welcome for the sinner and more graces for good!
There is mercy with Savior; there is most wonderfully kind.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those, who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

OFFERTORY PRAYER —————————-– Margie Tetzloff
Dear God,
Please help us to walk with you in this season of Lent. Please watch over us as we make our way to the desert. Lord, we bring the labor of our hands and the love in our hearts. May we become faithful companions during the challenges you and us encounter in our journey. Open our eyes to look out beyond our boundaries where we can truly see you and your miracles. Shine into our hearts and cause us to appreciate our blessings. Bless and multiply the gifts we have brought so that we advance your Kingdom here on earth. Jesus, we are walking with you. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and our faithful Companion. Amen.
