Message from The Pastor – July 2019

Dear Friends,

Pastor Sela Rousseau

It’s so nice to finally to have the warm summer weather upon us.  I enjoy being able to spend time outside to see and enjoy all that God created.

In the book of Genesis 1:29, God says – “See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.”  This beautiful place we live in was all made for us.  Our loving God gave us all the resources we need to sustain ourselves.

Summer is also a time for taking a break from school and work.  It’s a great time for getting out and spending time with family and friends.

I hope you’re able to get out,  and enjoy this beautiful time of year with the people you love.

While summer can be a busy time, it’s also a good time to reflect.  Especially if you’re in a good place sitting on a warm beach or talking a hike in the woods.  Perhaps you can reflect on your relationship with God and think about all that He has done for you.  Remember, all good things come from God.

Also, remember that being a follower of Christ is to be a missionary.  We should strive to be like Christ and look for opportunities to do His work.  In John 14:12 Jesus said –“Very truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.”

Perhaps you can think of ways to continue His works,  It doesn’t have to big things.  Everyday there are usually opportunities to lend a helping hand, encourage someone, be generous, or just share with someone how God has helped you.

You can also pray and ask God to show you where you can do His work.

Being a Christian is more than just going to church on Sunday.  It also means doing His work outside of the church.

My brothers and sister, I hope that you have an enjoyable summer with your family and friends.

Please remember to look at our Prayer List in the newsletter and keep these people in your prayers.  Many of them are enduring suffering and healing and may not be able to enjoy summertime as they usually do.

If possible, reach out to them with a call or card.  Your prayers and contact will help them.

Together in Christ,

Pastor Sela Rousseau
