God’s Words for You
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed. 1 Peter 4:12-13 NRVS

“Worship is an important part of my life. I don’t know where I would be without the Lord in my life. The Lord is most present in my life during the hardest times and battles I have to face. You may say really and my response is most definitely. We all face difficulties. King David, also faced difficulty but he did not give up. Instead, he worshiped in the face of loss and pain (see 2 Sam 12:20 NIV). It is so important that in times of pain and loss, we move toward God rather than ‘away’ from Him. David showed us that we have to say, “I feel so much pain, I’m in agony, but I’m going to go toward God because I need Him more now than ever”.
I recently relocated to Massachusetts from North Carolina and was in a state of despair after leaving my friends and church community. I wondered how and where I would find a new church home. It did not take me long. I found an awesome church family within the church community at Chestnut Street United Methodist Church. The church has a pastor that is truly connected and devoted to God. The Sunday worship services brings us closer to God every week. If you are looking for a church family, come and worship with us at CSUMC.”
“I began attending the Chestnut Street UMC church in 2017. I was new to having a relationship with God and new to the Methodist faith. I was immediately welcomed by the members. The church is bright and beautiful. I always feel the presence of the Lord when I’m in the Sanctuary.”
“I love and admire this church. They are very welcoming and the church always looks to do something new. This Faith Community has its heart in the community. It has a Thrift Shop (very cheap), Food Pantry, A monthly Community Supper will be starting up in soon. This church has a big heart for the Community. ”
